Birmingham Optical Group has made two appointments to its senior management team with two new business development director positions in Justin Annett and Andrew Brandi (News 18.03.11).
Brandi, business development director of the independent division, will be responsible for growing relationships with the independent sector and emphasise aftersales care to practices. He brings over 24 years' experience in the optical and medical business sectors, joining from Buchmann UK where he was managing director, having held senior positions at Topcon, Tinsley Medical Instruments and Keeler.
Annett, business development director for the medical division, joined the business in late 2010 and will focus on servicing the medical sector and educating the industry on the range and technologies through the company's partnerships with Nidek and Oculus.
He has over 10 years' experience in healthcare and has been involved in developing the brand reputation of private hospital business Optegra, having previously been a regional business manager at Ultralase.
Both recruits will join the senior management team of chief executive officer Chris Tyler and managing director Neil Townsend for the company's 25th year at Optrafair (stands L60, M60, N60).
Tyler said: 'Both Brandi and Annett bring impressive credentials and skills to our business, but more importantly, a customer-focused empathy and this really resonated with us.'
