Buchmann divides up edging brands in UK

Buchmann Optical Holdings (BOH) is to change its distribution of edging products in the UK which will see a number of well known brands move to new exclusive distribution through other suppliers and see the closure of its wholly owned subsidiary.

In response to enquiries from Optician following rumours about the Buchmann UK business, Danny Van Goethem, vice president of industrial solutions for the Belgian holding company, confirmed a number of changes would take place following its appearance at Optrafair.

Briot of France will be represented by BiB Ophthalmic Instruments by four former Buchmann UK sales and service people. 'No doubt they - together with BiB's other sales and service engineers and very motivated management team - will make Briot very much present and successful on the UK market,' said Van Goethem.
