Black & Lizars closed the doors on its Buchanan Street practice in Glasgow for the final time this week after 110 years’ trading.
Black & Lizars started in business in 1830, so to mark the occasion Geoffrey Ballantine, the fifth generation and current chief executive, turned the key for the final time.
Lizars opened its head office in Buchanan Street in 1892 and it has played a central part in Glasgow’s history. Patients from the practice will be looked after by Black & Lizars’ Hope Street practice before new premises open in nearby Gordon Street.
