Black & Lizars has partnered with Orcam to provide the optical supplier’s low vision assistive technology across the independent group’s practices in Edinburgh and Glasgow from January, 2022.
John Hare, director at Black & Lizars, said: ‘The technologies from OrCam do not amplify residual vision but rather increase independence by allowing anyone with a visual impairment to access the visual world around them -- including text from any surface, people’s faces, and consumer products. We are incredibly excited to start introducing our patients to the life changing technologies from OrCam.’
OrCam MyEye and OrCam Read will be made available to patients and assist with reading text from any surface through a wearable or handheld device.
