Blind in Business, the charity for blind and partially sighted people, is inviting employers to a free-of-charge course to learn how to incorporate visually impaired people into the workplace.

Now in its sixth year, Education to Employment, which takes place in Surrey on August 23-24, is designed to help graduates with visual impairments to learn how to sell themselves, cross barriers created by their disability and ask for the adjustments they need to succeed. Life coaching sessions and interviews with some of the Times Top 100 graduate recruiters are also available.

Some 75 per cent of visually impaired people of working age are unemployed and the charity believes lack of confidence is largely to blame. As part of the course it is encouraging blind graduates to take part in water-skiing.
