Eye health

New research conducted by Johnson & Johnson has found a widespread lack of public knowledge surrounding astigmatism and vision correction solutions in the UK.

J&J said its was not surprising that two thirds of people 'don't know' or 'don't think' they can wear contact lenses to correct their astigmatism, and that eight out of 10 astigmats said their optician had never discussed contact lenses as a vision correction solution.

Further findings revealed that despite eight out of 10 astigmats wearing spectacles, patients both expected and wanted further guidance from their ECP. Nine out of 10 people said it was important that ECPs discussed the potential of contact lenses as a possible vision care choice.
