Sue Grant, the co-founder and managing director of The Body Doctor, has been awarded an MBE for services to entrepreneurship in the King’s Birthday Honours.

The Yorkshire businesswoman founded The Body Doctor, which supplied eye drops, wipes and compresses, with her two sons in 2012, winning the Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2016 and 2021.

Grant originally formed the multi-award-winning Natural Wheat Bag Company in 1996 and went on to co-invent the EyeBag compress and the patented antibacterial shield Sterileyes for The Eye Doctor hot and cold compresses.

‘It’s such an honour to be awarded an MBE after almost 30 years of working with microwavable hot compresses, a concept that was not available in the UK at the time,’ said Grant.
