An optical assistant working for Boots Opticians has reportedly been found guilty of carrying out a loyalty card scam.
According to The Evening Standard, 21-year-old Gianna Registe amassed 25,000 points on her Boots Advantage Card while working at the company’s Oxford Street store.
Registe, also a model, later spent £2,500 on cosmetics and was given a four-month sentence suspended for two years by a judge at Southwark Crown Court, the newspaper reported. She was also reportedly ordered to complete 50 hours’ unpaid work within a year and repay the £2,500 to Boots.
‘At Boots Opticians we take any theft extremely seriously and have a zero tolerance approach to it in our stores,’ said a Boots Opticians spokesperson.
