Boots Opticians has offered full time places as qualified optometrists to all of the pre-registration optometrists it took on in the past year.
Making the announcement Boots said the pass rate of its pre-regs was 88.6 per cent against a national pass rate of 85 per cent. It said its students achieved particularly good results in the College of Optometrists’ latest Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Ben Fletcher, Managing Director of Boots Opticians, said: 'I am very proud of all of our pre-registration students and of the excellent results they have achieved in the OSCEs this year. These results demonstrate the hard work they have put into their pre-registration year at Boots Opticians and how they have positively taken their experience and knowledge to be able to effectively apply in a true clinical setting. He said the result was important to Boots as it allowed the company to continue offering high levels of care for patients.
