Boots targets parents over children's UV risk

British parents are becoming more aware of the danger of UV to children's vision but are still not acting to protect kids from the sun.

According to research conducted by Boots Opticians among 1,000 parents earlier this year, nine in 10 claim to know that sun can cause damage to the eye. When asked about the measures they take, less than half will make their children wear sunglasses when they feel it is necessary to apply suncream.

Hosting an education and awareness session for women's and parenting magazines in London earlier this week, professional services director David Cartwright said Boots Opticians wanted to create a call to action among parents and grandparents to take action to protect children's eyes from the sun.
