After a 20-year wait Robert Morris (above right) and Nick Boys (left) have entered into an optical partnership with Boys joining William Morris Eyewear as a director.

The two discussed working together in 1991 when Boys worked with Terri Brogan and Morris worked with OWP, before setting up his own company in 2001. Boys went on to work with Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford and latterly with Maui Jim, while William Morris Eyewear produces its eponymous range and holds licences for Cross, Mexx and some soon to be disclosed new additions.

'Over the years I have watched as William Morris has developed into a thriving range that meets people's needs. William Morris has a very strong independent following and to finally join Robert as a director is an amazing opportunity and one that will make perfect sense when we launch the new division of William Morris Eyewear,' said Boys.

Morris added: 'Having Nick join at this critical stage is fantastic timing, we have increased our distribution worldwide and we are developing new markets every day. His drive and enthusiasm for optics will be inspiring to the whole team.'

He said that the company was in a perfect position to gear up for a successful summer, with the market moving its way for design, price and service. 'Following a strong performance over the past 12 months, the newly expanded Hertfordshire base now houses the design team, distribution and customer service department all under one roof,' said Morris.

The company will be represented at Optrafair (FQ02 & FQ06).
