Australian research firm Brien Holden Vision Institute has announced plans to launch a series of commercial entities known as Brien Holden Vision companies in Australia, China, India, US and in Europe

Australian research firm Brien Holden Vision Institute has announced plans to launch a series of commercial entities known as Brien Holden Vision companies in Australia, China, India, US and in Europe.

The units will bring to market products for myopia and myopia control, presbyopia, and potentially blinding eye disease, a statement said.

Professor Brien Holden, CEO of Brien Holden Vision Institute, said: ‘The target for these commercial entities is to devote at least 25% of their profits and products to support the Institute’s humanitarian goal of vision for everyone, everywhere and to use the other 75% to create new technologies. With the institute as the major or only shareholder, we do not have to distribute our earnings to external investors but can apply earnings to achieve our mission.
