British thrive at busy Vision Expo

UK eyewear proved popular across the Atlantic at a busy Vision Expo East for international exhibitors.

Clear blue skies in New York did not impact visitor numbers inside the Jacob Javits Center, where organisers reported 16,317 attendees between March 23 and 25, up around 10 per cent from 14,807 last year.

Large numbers were attracted to UK styles, according to William Morris managing director Robert Morris. He said: 'British eyewear and clothing brands are the best ones out there at the moment, with London very much on trend ahead of the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.'

Morris called for Optrafair to become an annual event to continue meeting the demand.
