A Bromley-based dispensing optician has been suspended from the General Optical Council’s register for three months following a fitness to practise hearing.
Tracy Dermott’s fitness to practise was found to be impaired by reason of misconduct, in relation to a caution she received in 2013 and a conviction in 2017.
When applying for registration in 2017 and 2018, Dermott failed to declare that she was cautioned for common assault and was convicted for drink driving.
The Council was alerted to the registrant’s conviction via anonymous telephone calls in 2017. Dermott was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, which was suspended for 12 months, 150 hours of unpaid work and a four-year driving ban.
