Lens manufacturer Transitions Optical has appointed Lindsay Brown as business director for the UK and Nordic regions.
Brown replaces Donald Currie and is responsible for 'developing and implementing local strategies to achieve sales and financial targets, defining the regional commercial strategy and developing and managing the area teams, marketing mix and predetermined budgets'.
He joins Transitions from Spec-Savers, South Africa, where he worked as managing director for five years. He oversaw 100 franchised Spec-
Savers stores in 200 locations throughout South Africa.
'Transitions Optical is an exciting and innovative player in the optical market,' said Brown. 'I was particularly drawn to their relentless pursuit of excellence in product development and customer service and I am looking forward to playing an important role in further strengthening their position in the UK market.'
