Bryony Pawinska is to retire from her role as chief executive of the College of Optometrists in early 2016 after serving for more than 12 years

Addressing members at the College’s annual general meeting at the Optometry Tomorrow conference in Brighton this week (March 8-9), Pawinska announced this would her last presentation to an AGM in the role.

‘It was always my intention to retire at 65 from full-time working and I reach that milestone birthday at the end of this year. I’ve been working closely with [Dr] Cindy [Tromans] as chair of the College’s board of trustees, and the other trustees, to ensure we that we’ll have a well-planned transition to my successor.’
