Exhibitors at Optrafair 2007 reported rich rewards, with the show attracting professionals who came along with a specific purpose in mind.
According to organisers, the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians, visitor numbers were virtually identical to the last show in 2005 (11,665). But this year there was a marked drop in the number of students, with just 305 attending, according to FMO figures.
Exhibitors, including capital equipment suppliers and finance companies, reported brisk business, particularly for investment in fundus cameras.
Industry stalwart, Frank Norville, chairman of the Norville Group summed up the mood of many at the show: 'We have found it to be a very busy show. We are very pleased, particularly with the opportunity to meet so many of our customers and friends. Optrafair is the ideal opportunity to communicate new products and trends.'
