Optrafair aims to make itself more accessible to smaller companies with the launch of a Manufacturers' Pavilion for exhibitors at the April 2007 show.
The carpeted 'walk on' stands will be in the busy area of the main arena, close to the ACE education lecture campus, with thousands of passing visitors.
The units measure three by two metres, and are available for £950 plus VAT. They have a table, two chairs, lighting, electrical socket, a floor standing floral arrangement and an entry in the show guide.
The FMO is hoping to encourage smaller companies who in the past have considered the show to be out of their league in terms of cost and have been put off exhibiting.
Barry Dibble, deputy chairman of the FMO's optical exhibitors UK committee, said the Manufacturers' Pavilion was designed to make it easier for companies to exhibit and he expected the new area to be oversubscribed.
'We are really aiming this at repair workshops cut, edge and fit companies and smaller boutique Rx producers such as rimless specialists.'
