Butterflies Healthcare has released a range of hypoallergenic eye care cosmetic products specifically for contact lens wearers. The distributor said the range, developed in France, had a proven 99 per cent effectiveness in prevention of irritation and only 0.004 per cent incidence of adverse reaction.

'Eye sensitivity is becoming more frequent and the problems can be exacerbated by contact lens wear,' stated the distributor. 'As almost two-thirds of all contact lens wearers are women, staff in optical practices are ideally placed to give advice and tips on the best cosmetics to use. Eye care cosmetics can add value, increase patient loyalty and provide a new, regular income stream,' it added.
