Campaign will reveal state of nation's eyes

The state of the nation's eyes will be revealed with the launch of National Eye Week in September.

The state of the nation's eyes will be revealed with the launch of National Eye Week in September.

Organiser of the promotional week for the profession The Eyecare Trust is inviting practitioners from across the country to take part in an industry survey.

Results from the survey will be used along with a series of consumer research studies and existing industry data to compile a report that looks at the State of the Nation's Eyes.

Key findings from the report will then be used to launch National Eye Week, which this year is being sponsored by Crookes Healthcare, manufacturer of the Optrex eye care range.

The survey will explore trends in common eye conditions, review the role a good eye care regime plays in monitoring the public's wellbeing, and canvass the profession for its views on the future challenges facing optics.

Everybody taking part in this confidential survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Thresher Group voucher.

The survey questionnaire will be emailed to Friends of the Trust over the next couple of days. However, any practitioners wishing to take part can request a copy of the questionnaire direct from the Trust's press office on 01225 423394 or via email .

National Eye Week 2005 takes place from September 12-18.
