national eye weekThis year's National Eye Week will run from September 12-18 and will be sponsored by over-the-counter medicine supplier Crookes Healthcare.

The campaign this year aims to promote public awareness of common medical and environmental risks to eye health, with the production of a 'State of the Nation's Eyes' report.

The report, to give a snapshot of the health of the nation's eyes, is being compiled using consumer research, professional audits of ophthalmic practitioners and healthcare professionals along with industry data and DoH statistics.

A media relations campaign includes activity resource packs for Friends of the Trust, an 'interactive viral campaign', promotional posters, briefing of healthcare professionals and relevant groups such as nurseries.

Details on how to get involved will be announced next week.
