Carl Zeiss Vision releases new lenses aimed at office workers

Carl Zeiss Vision has released new lenses aimed at office workers.

The Office Lens range has been produced to help patients experiencing the symptoms of digital eyestrain which can include fatigue and neck aches from bad posture.

The manufacturer said it developed a technology called ‘Maximum Intermediate Distance (MID)’ which incorporated the patient’s centration, working distance and frame dimensions to tailor the lens to the customer’s workplace environment.

The lens is offered in different performance tiers. The ‘officelens Plus’ and ‘officelens superb’ come with a fixed MID of 100cm, 200cm or 400cm. The ‘officelens Individual’ can be tailored to a patient’s needs, between a range of 100cm to 400cm.

Carl Zeiss Vision marketing and communications director, Peter Robertson, said: ‘Unlike reading or progressive lenses, the office lenses are optimised for all required distances while working in front of a computer screen. They are an ideal solution for second pair value added dispensing.’
