Chair and CEO to leave Locsu

Locsu's Mike Fegan and Richard Whittington move on

Mike Fegan, chair of the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (Locsu), and the organisation’s CEO, Richard Whittington, have both announced their departure.

Fegan, who was appointed in 2018, will retire. He said: ‘Now that pressure from the pandemic is abating, it is appropriate to pass the chairmanship on, and for me to retire.’

Whittington joined Locsu in 2016 and was appointed chief operating officer in 2018 and he was promoted to CEO in 2020. He is leaving to join NHS England.

‘I would like to thank everybody who I have worked with, and been supported by, over the last five years and wish the LOCs and Locsu well for what I am confident will be a bright future,’ he said.
