The Local Optical Committee Support Unit (Locsu) has promoted its chief operating officer, Richard Whittington, to chief executive.
Whittington will lead on progressing Locsu during reorganisation of NHS England and focus on ensuring that the organisation supports the objectives of local optical committees (LOCs) and primary eye care companies (PECs).
Mike Fegan, chairman of Locsu, said: “Richard joined Locsu in 2016 and has been its senior executive for the past two years. This promotion recognises the strong leadership that Richard has provided and the hard work and commitment he has shown in delivering Locsu objectives.’
Speaking about his appointment, Whittington said that he is pleased to take on an enhanced role at Locsu and shared that there is much work to do.
