Fight for Sight has named the recipients of three research awards each worth £15,000 to fund research into eye disease.

Professor David Bates from the University of Bristol received the Dr Hans and Mrs Gertrude Hirsch Award which will support his research into ways of preventing abnormal blood vessel growth in the eye. It is hoped the research could lead to new treatments for age-related AMD and diabetic retinopathy.
