The ZT1175 frame from Charmant's Charmant-Z collection has won an Eyewear of the Year Award at the IOFT show in Tokyo. The frame was awarded the Grand Prix prize in the Functions & Technologies category where its Links Function hinge system and temple design were said to have impressed the judging panel.
The award was presented to Masakiyo Honjo, Charmant chief product officer. On the award, he said: 'Receiving the industry's leading award for one of our global brands in our home market has a profound meaning for all of us at Charmant. It proves that we are able to offer an important universal value in the form of eyewear.
'The style and the wearing comfort, combined together, are supported by our technologies. The winning model, with its contemporary and international design will be enjoyed by a relatively broad range of male users because of its clean lens shape, fine twin bridged front, and iconic parallelogram parts on the temples.'
