Chien Wong ranked top in the UK

Medical expertise ranking platform Expertscape has ranked OCL Vision surgeon, Chien Wong, as the fifth best scholar globally and the top scholar in the UK in the field of vitreoretinal surgery. 

The ranking was obtained from an analysis of scholarly publications in vitreoretinal surgery in the last decade, from 2013 to 2023. 

In the last ten years, Wong has published 24 peer-reviewed academic papers, which have progressed the understanding and treatment of retinal disorders. 

Wong, consultant ophthalmic surgeon at OCL Vision, expressed: ‘This achievement reflects not only my efforts but also the hard work of my colleagues at OCL Vision and the collaborative spirit we share in advancing patient care. It makes the academic side all the more worthwhile when I hear that my research into vitreoretinal surgery has been widely read and cited.’
