Optician sadly reports the sudden death of Christine Fitzmaurice following a short battle with Covid-19.

Fitzmaurice had worked with Cerium Visual Technologies (CVT) since the inception of the company in 1993 and was one of the earliest and most influential advocates of colorimetry, said CVT managing director Kimberly Harrison.

‘Christine campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of the benefits of coloured filters and lenses. She believed passionately in the need for colorimetry to reach the widest possible audience, lobbying parliament and reaching out to the general public through the industry and wider press. Her tenacity and drive were instrumental in colorimetry being recognised as it is today.
