CIBA Vision UK has responded to practitioner criticism of the Air Optix recall by stating that it is working closely with its customers to supply the best solution possible to bridge the short-term supply interruption.
CIBA, which apologised for the inconvenience to customers and consumers, expects core parameters to be available by March 15, and June 1 for all others. Explaining the timing, it said: 'The March and June availability dates were set due to insufficient supply during the recall period. In particular, we wanted to avoid uncertainty over supply. Our first priority is to build up stock of our core parameters (over 80 per cent of Air Optix fits) by March and the rest of the parameters will be available by June.'
