CIBA plays host to academics

Academics from the British Universities' Committee of Contact Lens Educators (BUCCLE) attended a two-day seminar hosted at the CIBA Vision headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.

One purpose of the trip was to educate on the company's Lightstream technology used for CIBA's Dailies contact lenses.

Robert Conway, chairman of BUCCLE and senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, said: 'The myriad of vision care options available to practitioners nowadays can be overwhelming for a student. As educators, we have a responsibility to keep ourselves at the cutting edge of new technology in order to impart that knowledge to our students [and] to help them make effective clinical decisions.'
