City hosts contact lens workshops

Events aim to help practitioners develop their investigative skills

Two-day contact lens workshops have been held for the first time at City, University London to celebrate the introduction of specialised dry eye management and myopia research clinics.

Held at the university’s optometry clinic City Sight, the workshops aimed to help practitioners improve their investigative skills and develop specialisms in complex contact lens fittings and dry eye assessment and management.

Organiser Dr Byki Huntjens said: ‘We’ve been delighted with the positive response from delegates and exhibitors. It’s been a really fun few days, there’s been lots of learning, networking, and the interaction and hands-on experience seems to have given many practitioners increased confidence in specialised areas of practice.’

Optometrists and contact lens opticians were able to receive a total of 34 CET points during the event.
