Clarke & Roskrow Styling Opticians in Market Harborough, Leicestershire has been recognised by the Federation of Master Builders for its renovation project.
James Barby of Rockingham Construction worked with practice owners Anthony and Karen Clarke, and won the Midlands area award for the renovation work he carried out on the three-storey building.
The practice remained open during the renovation works and only closed during the Christmas 2017 period and the beginning of 2018 in order to remove the old staircase and replace it with a new one.
Anthony Clarke said: ‘This was a seven month project from start to finish, but was 18 months in the design and planning. We worked closely with our design team 93feet in Sheffield, and needed a local building company who could transfer the design and make it a reality in a building that is difficult to access and has a very unconventional footprint. Where many others considered this project to be too difficult, James and his “can-do” attitude and sympathetic eye for detail and aesthetics meant that he was the perfect choice for us.’
Rockingham Construction and the Clarke & Roskrow Styling Opticians project will move on to the next round and the team will be attending the national Federation of Master Builders Awards, which will be held in London in September.
