New higher qualifications in paediatric eye care and low vision have been added to the College of Optometrists' suite of courses.
In a statement this week the College called for universities and training providers, including hospitals, to apply to offer professional certificates and higher certificates in paediatric eye care and diplomas in low vision.
Paediatric certificates would cover areas such as vision screening pathways and support development, communication and delivery of a management plan for infants and children, while the diploma in low vision completed a set of higher qualifications currently provided by Cardiff and City universities.
