College rolls out eye health campaign

Healthcare professionals, such as GPs, nurses, school nurses, midwives and domiciliary carers, are the target ofa new eye health awareness campaign.

The College of Optometrists' Eyes for a Lifetime campaign is aimed at both healthcare professionals and consumers and focuses on educating patients about looking after their eyes and the importance of visiting an optician for regular eye examinations.

The campaign will concentrate on four themes which will be developed over the next year:

The first of these initiatives began in March and saw the College link with nutritionist Fiona Hunter to promote the impact of a healthy lifestyle and diet on eye health.
