This year's AGM of the College of Optometrists attracted 270 delegates to the Brighton Centre as part of Optometry Tomorrow 2012. The two-day programme covered subjects including paediatric optometry, age-related macular degeneration treatments, infective keratitis and independent prescribing. There was also the chance to undertake clinical skills such as lacrimal duct syringing, pachymetry, and gonioscopy. Day two's annual charter lecture was this year delivered by Professor David Henson of the University of Manchester, who reviewed the refinement of glaucoma detection and management techniques. Taking place on March 18 and 19, the event offered up to 60 CET points, while next year's event will take place in Nottingham. The AGM also saw outgoing president Dr Cindy Tromans hand over the presidency to Dr Kamlesh Chauhan (see picture).
