College seeks chairman

Associations

The College of Optometrists has announced it is seeking a chairman of the board of trustees.

It follows an agreement by the College's board that the role of chairman should be separated from that of the vice president instead of the current combined role. The College said it was keen for the voluntary role to be filled by an optometrist who is a full College member, with the term of office to be three years, renewable for a further three.

College chief executive Bryony Pawinska said: 'I look forward to working with the new chairman to deliver our key objectives for 2011/14 which include supporting members, increasing engagement with the profession and public and working in partnership with other organisations to positively influence eye care delivery.'
