College updates guidance

The College of Optometrists has updated its ‘Guidance for professional practice’.

Bringing the guidance in line with General Optical Council (GOC) standards, NICE and SIGN guidelines, changes include a section to address social media and online behaviour, an expanded complaints section and a new chapter on examining patients with disability.

College members will be sent a bound version of the guidance in early 2018. Meanwhile, all optometrists can access the guidance at www.college-optometrists.org/guidance.
