A leading NHS chief has praised a commissioning working group put together by the College of Optometrists and Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
NHS chief knowledge officer Sir Muir Gray attended the joint College working group on commissioning meeting earlier this month, and tweeted afterwards to say it was 'the best meeting on eye disease and low vision ever'.
Sir Muir leads the Department of Health's Right Care programme for commissioners to get the best value care for their patients.
Through their working group, the College and RCO have brought together GP commissioning experts from the Royal College of General Practitioners and the National Association of Primary Care to take the Right Care agenda forward in eye care.
