Adam Brierley, former managing director of Satis Vacuum (UK) and international sales manager for the SatisLoh group, has joined Siltint Industries as commercial director.
Brierley brings with him a wealth of experience in thin film coating technologies. He graduated in Physics from Liverpool JM University and gained a Masters in engineering from the University of Salford in 1993. After working in project engineering for Leybold Vacuum he became product manager for Leybold Optics in 1997. He was the founder of Satis Vacuum (UK) in 2000 and helped develop Satis worldwide.
Commenting on joining Siltint, he said that the investments the company was making in hard coating for plastics and thin-film deposition technology would allow it to introduce more advanced coating processes for ophthalmic and photonic applications this year.
Siltint managing director Gerry Biggs added that Brierley would help introduce new mainstream and niche products to offer optical retailers a wider range of coatings for their patients.
