Delegates attending this week’s National Optical Conference (NOC) will hear from LOCSU managing director, Katrina Venerus , that community-based health care is a key priority among health policy makers.

The Local Optical Committee Support Unit chief predicted that delegates will be hearing a great deal about a push towards more ‘out of hospital care’ which is the phrase of the moment in senior NHS circles.

Previewing the NOC, Venerus explained that NHS England’s Taryn Harding will reveal early findings from the Call to Action for improving eye health and reducing sight loss to conference delegates. Harding is a leading figure in NHS England involved in shaping the primary care strategy which the Call to Action will feed into.
