New research commissioned by Optician and supported by Coopervision examined practitioner attitudes to contact lens upgrades and how recommendations are communicated to patients. The online survey was conducted in September and October 2015 among 235 optometrists and dispensing opticians who fit contact lenses.

Nearly half of those responding said they would not recommend a change of lens to a patient with no adverse signs and symptoms after five years of wearing the same hydrogel daily disposable lenses.
