Boots Opticians contact lens optician Graeme Stevenson is once again providing Rebecca Cooke (pictured) with her contact lenses for this year's Commonwealth Games.
Last time, in Manchester, Cooke won two gold medals. Aware of the advantages of clear vision in swimming and that swimmers have a statistically reduced tear film quality after aerobic training, Stevenson provides Acuvue 1-Day Moist lenses.
'She finds the comfort and convenience to be just what she requires for the demands of training and competing,' says Stevenson, who practises in Glasgow where Cooke is studying.
'Sharp vision is extremely important, especially in helping with the timing of turns which can be crucial in races. It is also important to be aware of the position of competitors in other lanes, hence the combination of contact lenses and goggles is vital.'
