Cooper Companies has reported revenue of $251.1m for the first quarter of 2009, a 3 per cent rise on the same period last year, or 4 per cent at constant exchange rates.

It also confirmed its 2009 fiscal guidance of $865m-$925m in a conference call to journalists last Friday.

The company's chief executive officer and director, Robert Weiss, described the period as 'a great quarter' despite 'a global recession and financial crisis'. He claimed that the Proclear family of products continued to drive CooperVision's top line and continued 'a stellar performance'.
