Coopervision has named Romana Khaliq as its 2015 student of the year.
The Glasgow University optometry student picked up her prize at the National Student Summit, where shortlisted entries from each of the optometry universities presented their final year projects to a judging panel of lecturers and academics.
The projects, all concerning contact lenses and the anterior eye, were judged on the grounds of their originality, usefulness and potential application, and the students on their presentation skills and subject knowledge.
Khaliq’s work had combined a comparison of two methods of assessing evaporation from the eye along with how different contact lenses might influence this.
