Coral Eyewear protects pole to pole expedition’s vision

Sunglasses given to the Pole to Pole team with polarisation and UV protection

Sustainable eyewear brand Coral Eyewear has partnered with the 2023 Pole to Pole Expedition team to provide polarisation and UV protection in extreme conditions.

Coral Eyewear, which uses eco-friendly frame materials from recycled ocean plastics, has been tasked with protecting the team’s eyes on its 120-day all-electric car voyage across the Antarctic, the Americas and the Arctic.

The eyewear company said the polarisation, UVA and UVB filtration will protect against reflective snow, ice and summer temperatures, enabling ‘glare reduction, improved colour perception and visual clarity.’

Chris Ramsey, pictured, founder of Pole to Pole Expedition, said: ‘It goes without saying that driving 17,000 miles in some truly extreme conditions requires excellent visual awareness and maintaining healthy eyes will be critical to the expedition’s success. It is fantastic to work with a brand that not only embraces sustainability and the circular economy, but will also keep us safe on and off the road over our four-month journey.’
