Crewe opticians practice replaces glasses destroyed by fire

Crewe Specsavers offers free replacement glasses after they were lost in a fire

Specsavers in Crewe has offered free replacement glasses to the residents of Beechmere Care Home after they lost all of their possessions in a recent fire.

So far, 20 out of the 150 residents who were affected have received new glasses as well as a 50% discount for bifocals and varifocals. The Cheshire based practice has also said it will replace any NHS hearing aids that were lost in the fire.

Practice director Gurj Bhamra said: ‘We’ve been a part of the community here in Crewe for over 25 years now and we are happy to do anything we can to help. We’re encouraging anyone affected by the fire to visit the store to speak to a member of staff about collecting their new pair. Our thoughts are with the residents and their families.’
