The Coventry city centre branch of Specsavers destroyed by a fire has reopened in a temporary shop unit while repairs take place. A former calendar store was fitted out and glasses collection services began last week.
It was hoped that the full range of services, including eye exams, would be offered from January 26. A mobile unit handling audiology services will remain in place.
Store director Hitesh Solanki said: ‘We’ve been working very hard to find suitable temporary premises and I’m pleased that we will be able to reopen so close to the store. I’d like to thank all our customers for their patience and understanding. Work to repair the damaged store has now started and we are hopeful it will be reopened before the end of February.’
