The volunteer team at the pop-up optometry and ophthalmology clinic in Bermondsey
The London Crisis at Christmas Opticians and Eyecare service, run in partnership with charity Crisis, celebrated its 20th anniversary in December as well as increasing from one clinic to nine.
Fifty volunteers provided 162 eye examinations at a pop-up clinic, with equipment from Topcon, frames and financial support from Specsavers and lenses and glazing services from EssilorLuxottica.
Frames were made for 104 guests, 51 pairs of ready readers were dispensed and 13 referrals were made to secondary care for further investigation.
