Crystal clear dispensing app

Edinburgh optometrist David Crystal has designed a new video dispensing app for optical professionals to offer those with poor vision an easy and enjoyable way to select a frame. The app uses the iPad 2's rear camera and allows the operator to take four three-second video clips that can be emailed or uploaded to Facebook, should they want approval from friends or family.

Crystal, who owns independent practice Eyecare Plus, said it was a truly cost-effective way to improve patient care: 'The high-tech design of EyeDispense used in conjunction with iPad2 will impress customers.
