Spectacle maker Cubitts announced that it would be taking part in a charity auction in partnership with creative arts charity Create, showcasing nine frames handcrafted at Cubitts’ King’s Cross workshop.
Participating designers from diverse fields, including industrial design, fashion and fine art, reimagined the traditional spectacle frame, exploring innovative concepts such as secondary functions, anthropomorphic elements, personal allusions and unconventional materials.
The frames would be on display to the public during the London Design Festival (September 14-28), exhibited in Cubitt’s new Islington location, with all proceeds from the online auction going to Create.
